The basic differences in cuisine

Jammu and Srinagar has totally distinct cuisines. This difference is arises due to the climatic conditions of Jammu and Srinagar. The image above is of Kaladi which is famous in whole of jammu. The food of jammu has a very mild taste due to the hot weather conditions. Our cuisine is derived from dogra rulers and due to this Jammu cuisine is colloquially known as dogra cuisine. Also the dogra rulers are from Punjab which has very deep effects on our cuisine.

Now onto to the Kashmiri cuisine; it is very famous as compare to dogra and this is due to the fact that many people don't know about Jammu. It is also due to the fact that Kashmir is the hot spot of tourism in India in past decades. The Kashmiri cuisine includes lots of fat in their macros. These dishes are mainly very hot and oily to regain heat in chilly weather. Most of the Kashmir is Muslim dominant and we can see that influence in their cuisine also. Their main dishes are mostly made up of meat with lots of spices because of the reason I have mentioned above to retain and regain heat in chilly winters.

In my understand the major differences between the Dogra and Kashmiri cuisine is that their is nothing in common as these places are different historically and culturally but they are united by the blood and land of the Dogras.
