Why media ignore Jammu and Ladakh

The media has always portrayed the Kashmir valley and Jammu and Kashmir as a whole. The Ladakh is somewhat famous for its natural beauty and recently has been portrayed by many travel channels. This ignorance of media has led to grave misconceptions like the one I have already discussed in my earlier post that is Clearing misconceptions of Jammu and Kashmir. The main reason for the ignorance of Jammu and Ladakh is that Kashmir overshadow it by the means political preference and tourism. The militancy in Kashmir is reported by the many news channel on the regular basis. Most of the news are correct but their are exaggerated versions are also present. The jammu is mainly seen as the area of conflict but jammu is different in every way.

The things is if we type Jammu in google one can see that the major news comes of Srinagar and Kashmir even though it is hundreds of kilometres are away. Their are few images of Jammu in google images. The media does not cover Jammu so much is that because life here is like any other city in the India. The people are ordinary and no guns are blazing. Their are few times when Jammu was under lime light but it is so when their is a terrorist attack or flood ravaged the city. The same thing is with Ladakh also, whenever china do something on LAC or some natural calamity come media always pick their cameras up then only. This ignorance has devastating impact on state economy as Ladakh has its tourism but Jammu see tourism only from Mata Vaishno Devi which is also slimming due to better connectivity with base camp Katra. So media and travel vlogger should come to Jammu and see for themselves how they feel.
