Goveremnet Expenditure on Jammu and Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir receive a disproportionate amounts of funds from 2000 to 2016. According to The Hindu the state has received over Rs1.14 lakh crore  in grants in sixteen years (http://www.thehindu.com/news/national/other-states/JampK-gets-10-of-Central-funds-with-only-1-of-population/article14506264.ece). The state has comparatively low population as compare to rest of India but it receive those grants. This is mainly due t the reason is that conflict in Kashmir. All these grants are meant to be improve Infrastructure and overall conditions of Kashmir.

All these talks of azadi are meaningless when we see either side of border. The thing is Kashmir total budget of 7500 crore is not able to sustained by the state itself. Jammu and Kashmir is most pampered state but also the most beaten up state form either side that is Pakistan or China. Economically Jammu and Kashmir can never be self sufficient and relies on the center government grants to live and thrive.
